Ioannis Limnios-Sekeris (limniosg@gmail.com) is a PhD Candidate at the Department of Political Science and History of the Panteion University, Greece. His PhD research deals with the relationship between the specialised on migration international organisations and the private sector between 1950 and 1980. In 2013 he completed his MA Thesis at the University of Crete, Greece on the topic of post-war emigration of Greeks to Australia. At the same University he completed his undergraduate studies in Contemporary History in 2010. Ioannis’ research interests focuses on post-war migration; the history of international organisations and transport history. His publications include articles on Greek post-war emigration to Australia; Australia’s post-war immigration policy; the role of the Intergovernmental Committee for European Migration (ICEM) on management of post-war migration and the migrant sea and air traffic. Ioannis was awarded with the John Scholes Transport History Research Essay prize in 2020 for his original research work and since 2014 he is working in the international humanitarian sector.
