Norberto Ferreras (norbertoferreras@id.uff.br) is an associate professor at the Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF). He received his Ph.D. in Social History from the State University of Campinas - Unicamp (2001) and holds a Master's Degree in History from the Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) (1995). Between September 2014 and June 2014, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University, Weatherhead Initiative on Global History. He is also a member of the Poverty Research Network in the Global History and Culture Centre at Warwick University. He studies Latin American History, working mainly on the following themes: Work Systems, Workers and Social Movements. He also developed a research on a relationship between the ILO and Latin America between 1930 and the present day focusing on forced labor and slavery-like work. His current research focuses on territory, workers and natural environment in Brazil and Argentina during the 19th and 20th century, in a comparative perspective.
